I had not yet installed the cowling forward flange nut plates yet so I installed the cowling halves, match drilled the holes, then riveted the nut plates and countersunk the upper cowling screw holes. I also had to gap fill the space between the upper and lower cowling at the forward flange area so I made up a batch of micro. A number of other spots like a wheel fairing and the engine inlet ring epoxy flange also needed filling so I filled thiose too. Since I had mixed epoxy I also carried out the pin hole filling technique that Van's builder manual suggests, that is to thin the epoxy by 50% with acetone and cover the fiberglass parts in the mixture. I used the epoxy not used to make micro for the pin hole filling on a main wheel and a nose wheel fairing.
